Birdies is a family run bistro owned by Jenni & Dom. It first opened in 2013 and since then has grown with a bigger team, a wider selection food on the menu but the same, beautiful views of Hayle Estuary!
Before Birdies, Dom has worked at a variety of high profile establishments that include Harrods, Raymond Blanc’s Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons and Ferrari.
He also worked with the prestigious Salisbury group, who own gastro pubs in Buckinghamshire where he created British colonial food made with foraged ingredients and local seasonal produce.
Consequently, he is passionate about real food and is a keen supporter of the county’s smaller food producers.
He says: “Cornwall has a fantastic variety of local seasonal ingredients that are full of flavour.
Our local suppliers, from dairy through to game, are excellent and it’s a joy to create menus using their produce.”
Dom continued, “It has long been a dream of ours to open our own restaurant and to find such a unique venue allowed the dream to come true.”
